Osman (name)
Osman (also transliterated as Usman) is the Turkish, Bosnian, Persian, and Ammiya Arabic version of the male Arabic given name Uthman, Arabic: عثمان. It was first used as a Persian version of the Arabic given name, because there is no -th sound in Persian. This pronunciation was also adopted by other languages influenced by Persian, most of all Turkish, Bosnian and Hindustani.
